Remember that saying “You never know the value of something till you lose it”… Well, I did lose my mind once, and I didn’t know the value of what I lost (cuz to be honest, having an empty skull at that time was wayyyy better)
Did I find my mind again? No. No I didn’t.
It found me after it heard I’ve been making some dumb decisions and I needed saving.
It’s been 15 hours already since I regained my mind back, and I’m here writing this (yes yes, all the drama above of losing and gaining my mind happened today)
Can you willingly lose your mind?
Now that’s a question I don’t get asked everytime (or ever)
Losing your mind isn’t something you do willingly. You can’t just mysteriously lose your mind.
It happens on it’s own. And most times, it’s when the pressure is just so intense and unbearable.
There are times my mind goes on vacations to the Maldives when I’m faced with obstacles.
I would be excited, maybe too excited for the types of challanges I’m currently facing.
“You are losing your mind! Why are you behaving like you have no worries? – My friends would ask me.
They couldn’t just fathom it.
But I was actually losing my mind!
How can losing your mind be beneficial?
When you lose your mind, your mind wanders away.
It’s like a pet wanting to pee, but being stuck in a cage. It gets restless and uneasy. Disturbing and hitting the cage.
But when you open the cage, the pet runs out, urinates and becomes much calmer. Then enters the cage and the environment is more peaceful than it was.
Same concepts goes for your mind.
When you lose your mind, it’s a state of releasing your thoughts, your opinions and ultimately, your mind – with so much force and in some cases, aggression.
Your mind, with all it’s thoughts and directives, forces it’s way out, relieves itself, draws out solutions from all sides, digesting everything it can digest, to ultimately make your entire emotional body state, much better, calmer and active.
That’s why the best resolutions you will make in your life would come after you’ve gone through a state of “I lost my mind”
How then can I find my mind again?
You don’t have to find it again.
It comes back to you.
Tell me something, have you lost your mind over something or someone before?
What happened after that?
Didn’t you make or at least try to make better resolutions and decisions after? To make your emotional state and wellness much more balanced?
Exactly.
Remember I said earlier that your mind, with all it’s thoughts and directives, forces it’s way out, relieves itself, draws out solutions from all sides, digesting everything it can digest.
After doing all these, it returns to you. Back inside your skull. This time, with added experience, knowledge and solutions.
That’s why in most cases, you become wiser after “Losing your mind over something or someone”
It’s because you lost your mind, then your mind went out there, collecting resources to get better in approach, reaction and solution-orientation. So when it comes back to you, you were wayyy informed and cognitively better to make sure your emotional wellness is stabilised for the future.
Oh cooool, you are a superhero Vincent! Let’s use your mind to play table tennissss… Haha
Certainly!
I’d just order another mind from Jumia. I mean, I would need me some Chinese thinking… Hahaha
Yep and thank you for reading. Now you see why losing your mind isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
(As long as you hope it finds you back, cuz you don’t wanna be in front of a psychiatrist, having a lost mind… Haha)

Thank you Wisdom! I’m glad you loved reading it. Yessssss, I can’t wait either 💪🏾
Haha nice. I like losing my mind once a while too, for similar reasons. So I don’t get bothered when it’s lost. I trust it to find its way back.
Lydia it’s a pleasure to have you here. Well, you making this comment with a mind that has already found it’s way back 😅😅
Good stuff Vincent. Sometimes my mind doesn’t go pee. It goes and barfs everything at once. Then I feel better. It’s the same principal I think.
Waiting for the next installment.
Well, in the midst of minds, I think your mind is like one of the coolestttt.
But Yesss, as long as you feel better than you were, that’s all that matters. Thank you for engaging Elise
